"Bridging The Gap From The Streets To The Chruch" Juan's Story

Juan Rivera was one of the first all-style dancers who came to attend our open sessions. We welcomed him and encouraged him in his gifting. In the beginning he had hesitations and was a little resistant to accepting the gospel but eventually the love and truth of Christ compelled him.

"I came to the Cypher Spot in its early years as just a dancer looking for a place to connect with local dancers and hone my craft. Before I gave my life to Christ I would sometimes leave when it came for the preaching the Gospel but the days I stayed were impactful enough to plant a seed within me to want to pursue God even more!

The leaders there not only cared about my dancing but they cared about my spiritual well being. They all take the time to get to know everyone who walks through the door. Without the people I have met through The Cypher Spot, I wouldn’t have anyone who wants to see me succeed in my dance goals as well as the spiritual support system to help me get through my day to day life."

When Juan first came around he was into worldly philosophy and was seeking for community and answers he could only find in Christ. Sometimes people have had bad church experiences in the past and or have questions about the faith. The Cypher Spot is that bridge from the streets to the church for those who resonate with the urban arts. Since then Juan with his wife and family started attending chuch and recently got baptized. Juan is now leading his family and community for the Lord. How God has tranformed his life and those around him is amazing and we prasie God for it!
